Make learning lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and letter sounds fun with this Summer Letter Recognition and Beginning Sounds Activity! As your students "feed" the lemonade pitcher the lemons, they will review and practice naming letters and sounds.

Your kids can use this hands-on letter and sounds identification activity independently or with a partner during centers or morning tubs. You can also use it as an intervention, small group, or early finisher resource.

  • Lemonade Pitcher to Feed
  • 26 Lemon Cards with Capital Letters
  • 26 Lemon Cards with Lowercase Letters

There are picture cards that begin with both the short and long vowel sounds. There is also a picture card that ends with the letter X.

The pitcher and lemons are in color and black and white.

How to Use:

Your students will select a lemon card and identify the capital or lowercase letter or the picture’s beginning sound as they “feed” it to the pitcher. Next, they will trace or write the letter on one of the four recording sheets.
