This color the room activity is a fun way for your students to not only work on learning one letter at a time but also review colors and develop their fine motor skills too.

This resource can be used as a whole group or independent activity after introducing a letter to your students.

What’s Included:

  • Capital Letter Worksheets (with 8 or 11 Letters)
  • Lowercase Letter Worksheets (with 8 or 11 Letters)
  • Capital Letter Cards (11 Colors)
  • Lowercase Letter Cards (11 Colors)

First, decide if you want your students to color 8 or 11 letters and then print the worksheet with that number of letters for the letter that they are learning. Next, print the matching color cards. Then, cut the cards apart and hang them around the room.

Your students can carry a box of crayons around with them as they complete the activity or you can place a cup of that color crayon by each card. For example, place a cup of red crayons by the red card.

How to Use:

Your students will walk around the room and look for the letter cards. When they find one, they will color one of the letters on their worksheet that color. For example, your students find the red capital letter A. They will color one of the letters red on their worksheet.
